I remember when I first started blogging, monetizing my blog was one of my key goals. I wanted my blog to be a central hub for my brand and I also wanted to monetize my blog.

So in this post, I want to share with you 5 tips on how you can begin to monetize your blog.

Before I dig into the juicy stuff, the first starting point is traffic. Without traffic, you will not have leads and no leads equals zero sales.

Monetize Your Blog Tip 1 – Review affiliate products

You can make a lot of money from your blog by reviewing new products within your niche and it doesn’t matter what niche you are in.

People are always looking for reviews on products before they buy, so if you do a review about a particular product, you have a good chance of someone buying after reading your review.

 

Monetize Your Blog Tip 2 – Have a ‘Recommended Tools’ page

Depending on your niche, it’s a great idea to have a page that lists your personal tool box of tools that you use.

Here’s an example:

People are always looking for tools that can help them in their business, so it helps to have that page so that they can see what you use.

Again, your loyal readers will take your recommendation over someone else’s.

 

Monetize Your Blog Tip 3: Have A Pop Up Form

I cannot over emphasize the important of having a pop up form on your blog. And not just any pop up form but having an offer that actually converts.

Your pop up form should lead to a money page or to your free giveaway.

Having a pop up form increases your lead generation and your sales as well.

So do not ignore it.

If you already have a pop up form and are not seeing conversions, I suggest that you change it immediately and keep changing till you get an offer that converts like crazy.

WP Subscribers – this is a paid one, but it has some incredible features like a tick box that tempts your blog commenters to subscribe where commenting on your blog.

WP Super Pop Up - this is a free one, I really like this one and it’s a great start if you are on a budget.

 

Monetize Your Blog Tip 4: Put Affiliate Links In your Blog Posts

Make use of every opportunity to slot in an affiliate link in your blog posts. You are blogging to make money, aren’t you?

And this is a great way to monetize your blog.

Obviously, you don’t want to put an affiliate link in every sentence. You have to be subtle about it.

 

Monetize Your Blog Tip 5: Links Or Banners In The Side Bar

Having a couple of banners of your best selling products will help you to monetize your blog. Again, you’ll have to play around and test different banners to see what works.

Caution: Don’t turn your blog into a banner fest! When there are too many flashing objects dancing around your blog, it becomes a huge turn off. So beware of that!

You can also have your links in the side bar of your blog that subtly recommends your favourite products.
