A 4-Step Super Cool MLM Recruiting Strategy That Will Help You Sponsor More Reps
MLM recruiting is a crucial part of a home business but a lot of people get it all wrong.
In this article I would like to reveal a 4-step mlm recruiting technique that I’ve been learning over the last couple of months and it’s been working so I want to share it with you.
Whether you are generating leads online or through networking events, this 4-step mlm recruiting strategy will make a big difference in your recruiting efforts.
MLM Recruiting Step 1 – Introduction
Call your mlm leads to connect with them. Introduce yourself and establish how they met you, whether it was online or offline.
So if it was a lead generated online, you could say something like ‘Hey prospect, this is Ruth, how are you doing? (Wait for an answer)
‘You visited my website that has to do with growing your business and making it more profitable, do you remember doing that?’
If it was an offline lead, say from a networking event, you could say something like
‘Hey prospect, we met at ABC networking event, we didn’t get a chance to talk and I just wanted to get to know what you do a little bit more’.
MLM Recruiting Step 2 – Build Rapport
This is so important. Don’t just jump into the main reason you were calling. Remember that people only do business with people that they like and trust. So spend a few minutes to build a rapport until you feel that your prospect has warmed up to you.
These are some of the things I say and you can come up with your own lines for building rapport:
‘I see I’m calling a US number, what part of the US are you located in?’
‘How long have you lived in XYZ?’
MLM Recruiting Step 3 – Fact Finding
A lot of marketers skip this crucial step and go straight into their business opportunity or product. You need to know what your mlm prospect wants so that you can adjust accordingly.
You can even use this fact finding step to weed out who is serious and who isn’t so that you don’t end up wasting your precious time on a tire kicker.
Have you heard this saying that you can’t sell steak to a vegetarian, no matter how fantastic your pitch it, they won’t buy, period!
So take some time to find out exactly what your prospect wants, ask questions, listen and do less of the talking.
Here are some examples of fact finding questions that I use. Obviously, you can always tailor it to your particular industry.
‘What do you currently do for a living?’
‘Are you currently into network marketing?’
‘What is your vision for your business?’
‘How are you currently generating leads?’
If you don’t know your prospects real problems, how can you provide a solution to a problem you don’t know about? So the more questions you ask, the better idea you will have of how to help your prospect.
MLM Recruiting Step 4 – Provide The Solution And Close
After you have been through steps 1, 2, and 3, your prospect should have warmed up to you and should be talking freely to you and you should already know exactly what they want from your fact finding.
So now, are in a position to offer a solution that will solve their problems and BANG that’s where you bring in your opportunity or product.
Notice that in previous steps, I made no mention of products or business opportunity. You should NEVER mention anything about your solution until you fully understand what your mlm prospect wants.
So for example depending on what you are offering, you could say something like:
‘Prospect, from what I understand, you are looking to do ABC. My product/opportunity will help you achieve exactly what you are looking for’
‘Prospect, how soon are you looking to get plugged in so I can start helping you to achieve ABC?’
At this point, you can send them more information or sign them up.
MLM Recruiting – Conclusion
This 4-step mlm recruiting strategy works but as with anything, it is a skill which you have to learn and master. And to learn, you have to practice.
You might get it all wrong the first few times, but don’t give up, keep practicing this 4-step mlm recruiting strategy till you nail it.

That’s great advice Ruth – the key is building rapport and finding out people’s “why” for wanting to do this and then positioning yourself as the leader that can show them how to achieve what they want.

Great tips! It is so important to find out someone’s “why” for doing a homebased business early on in the process. That way you can tailor your discussion with the prospect to suit his/her needs and to find out how your business may fulfill their needs. Building rapport will also help you to decide whether or not you actually want that person in your business.
