Every now and then, I come across people who say that they really want start an online home business but as soon as they open their mouth, the excuses start pouring out non stop.

They always have an excuse for everything. Why they can’t live their dreams, why they are broke, why they are facing so many obstacles … and the list goes on and on.

Sometimes these people appear very sincere and their reason for not taking action may seem very reasonable but at the end of the day, they are all excuses.

Here are some typical excuses that people make that sabotages them from starting an online home business:

1. I don’t have the money!

Yeah right! Who has a stash of money sitting on their kitchen table when starting out their business??!!!

Infact most successful people were broke and frustrated when they started out in their business.

But the difference between successful people and people who make this silly excuse is that they found a way to get the money. It takes money to make money!

If you are absolutely broke and cannot afford anything to start out, settle down and brainstorm 20 ways to make some money right now.

I can assure you that by the end of that exercise, you would have come up with a couple of ways to make the money you need to get started.

The question is….will you be bold enough to take action and follow through or will you keep on making excuses?

2. I don’t have the time

This is another one that is so so silly and makes me chuckle whenever I hear someone say it.

We all have 24 hours in a day. Nobody has 25 hours a day!

When you say that you don’t have the time, you are saying in other words, that starting your own online home business and pursuing your dreams isn’t a high priority for you.

What I have come to discover is that if you REALLY wanted to do something, you would find the time to do it.

So again, this is just an excuse that people use to defend themselves.

3. It’s a scam!

Yes. Agreed. There are scams out there but when you keep turning every opportunity down as a scam, there is a problem with your mindset.

People use this excuse to justify themselves about why they are not taking action. Afterall, it’s a scam!… they say to themselves!

For example, I had someone on my list the other day email me that he wasn’t interested in my online home business because he ‘thinks’ it’s a scam! LOL!!!!!!!

To that person, he has justified himself about why he will not take action and pursue his dreams even though he is dead broke!

The point I am trying to make is that saying something is a scam is no excuse not to start your online business!

4.  I am overwhelmed!

Who wasn’t! When you start anything new, you will experience overwhelm. For example, a hairdresser who decides to become a lawyer will be very overwhelmed when they start their law degree!

When I started my online home business, I too was overwhelmed but I endured and figured it out. I remember spending countless days and nights on my computer trying to make sense of everything.

So saying that you are overwhelmed is not acceptable. Work through your state of overwhelm till you figure it out!

5. I am still doing my research

This is a common one. How long will you research for?

Some people spend weeks, months and even years ‘researching’. They continue to watch other people making money whilst they continue ‘researching’.

The funny thing is that if you really dig deep to find out how much effort these people have put into researching, you’ll discover that they have hardly done any research at all.

Common, how can you be researching for a whole month or year without coming to a conclusion?!!!

It’s all excuses!!!

6. The timing is not right

If you are waiting for the perfect time to do start your business…..dream on!

When will the time ever be right? Let me tell you, there will never be a perfect time.

Starting an online home business is a deliberate decision that you have to follow through. If starting an online business is what you want to do, then JUST DO IT….

Because there will never ever be a perfect time. The stars will never align for you!

7. I don’t have the right skills to do an online home business

Yes, you are right. You may not have the right skills but you can learn those skills.

Nobody was born with skills, we all learned them. For example, people say that it’s only gurus with huge lists that can succeed online.

I disagree with that idea, because the gurus in your industry didn’t know everything they know today when they started out.

They learned all the skills they have over time.

8. Too much competition is an online home business

Competition is actually a great thing. It’s a great indicator that it’s a viable market.

When it comes to an online home business, it’s hard to believe that the market can ever get saturated considering the fact that an online business has no global restrictions.

On the internet, there is room for everyone and I would rather go into a market with lots of customers than a dead market with no competition.

9. I might fail

Who knows? You might but you’ll never know if you don’t start.

And even if you fail, it doesn’t matter, just start again.

To succeed in business, you must have a resilient attitude that will stick through all the ups and down of business. After all failure is part of the journey to success.

10. I’m scared!

Kudos for admitting it! The reason most people make all these excuses all boils down to fear.

And it’s ok to be afraid. We all have fears but you need to confront your fear and deal with it.

That is the real reason why you are not taking action and starting your online business.

There! That should have eliminated all your excuses!

Bottom line is that ‘where there is a will, there is a way’!

Make a decision to start your online business today and start pursuing your dreams.
