Getting people to open your emails is a very important part of building a successful home business.
More people opening your emails will result in more exposure to your marketing messages and of course more sales.
The industry average (internet marketing) is about 7 to 8% which means that 92% of your subscribers do not open your emails!
Here are 3 top ways that will dramatically increase your email open rate.
1. Have an brief, interesting and catchy subject line
Your subject line is the first thing that your subscribers see in their inbox. So if it’s too long and they can only see half of it, then they won’t be fully exposed to the message enough to click through and open your email.
You also want to make sure that it’s engaging and interesting. Remember that people’s attention span is very short. So if your title is boring or irrelevant, it will stand very little chance of getting opened.
You also want to avoid words that will get caught up in people’s email. For example, words like ‘FREE’, dollar signs ($$$), or words that have too many exclamation signs (!!!).
If you use words like ‘FREE’ in your subject line, you can trick the email spam filters by adding a full stop or dash in between the letters (F.REE).
2. Segment your list and resend un-opened emails
Resending unopened emails can dramatically double your open rate but not many marketers actually do this.
It’s very simple and all you have to do is create a list of the people who didn’t open your email the first time, and then resend it to that list of people.
The good thing is that it only takes about 5 minutes to do but most people don’t do it!
